The downside of a 24/7 device placed deep in your ear canal is that your ear doesn’t have an opportunity to stay open and dry out. The skin deep inside the ear canal is thin and sensitive. Irritation or pain can develop after prolonged use of Lyric. In rare cases moisture gets trapped between the device and the ear canal causing pain.
- Individual replacement needs may vary. Lyrics need to be replaced every 1-2 months when the long lasting battery goes dead. Sometimes the battery will go dead sooner making the replacement schedule somewhat unpredictable.
- Some people are not candidates for Lyric. Lyric works optimally for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. It’s not suitable for severe to profound hearing loss.
